![]() Any animal would just know that something is off, that there are supernaturals and who they are. Also why should Auspex rank 2 be so much better than Animalsm rank 4. The way you are handling it, there is almost no reason for that power, as you make the animal literally worse with the vampire using a high level discipline. It literally says that you are entwined with the soul/spirit not just suppressed. "This power entwines the character’s consciousness closely with the animal’s spirit, so much so that theĬharacter may continue to think and feel like that animal even after breaking the connection." What I would allow is for a Cainite possessing a dog (or similar) to smell Cainites as being different to humans with a Perception + Alertness roll, since dogs have exceptional smell (to the point of smelling infected bees, a corpse held up by blood should work fine). If you want to make the way animals respond to Cainites a mundane sense like hearing that anyone can piggyback, that's fine, but it's written like a supernatural response. If you want to be able to sense the supernatural, invest the points in Auspex, at least that's how I would look at it. The spirit of the animal itself responds with fear to supernaturals, but the spirit of the animal itself is being suppressed by you when you take that form. I scouted out a Giovanni airport with it recently and was amazed how little vampires and how many wraiths were there. That's a bit of a stretch. Very useful to detect wraiths, vampires and any werewolf/fera. Any Animal is by default hostile to a huge amount of supernaturals, which means that they can sense them. You can use 4 to spy and detect supernaturals that animals react to. Finally, Pact with Animals is a fun Swiss army knife of bonuses that grants the vampire aspects of any animal he's fed from (such as a falcon's sight, a cat's grace, etc). It never made it past 2nd edition, however, given its similarities to Melpominee and Presence, I suspect. Quell the Herd is a nice non-lethal riot shotgun, allowing you to use Quell the Beast on a number of humans and animals equal to twice her Willpower score.ĭeep Song functions like Song of Serenity, only the vampire can produce any desired emotion through his or her song. Animal Succulence, is pretty useful in any game, dark ages or modern, especially in a game that requires travel, though the price of frenzy at the end has to be factored in. A sample of some nice level sixers to follow: Ironically, it was at the higher levels that the Discipline became underwhelming to me. I remember there were a fair amount of useful level 6 Powers for Animalism. I've played a few Animalism characters, and ST'd some high level Animalism NPCs as well, so I pretty much had to scour the rulebooks for useful and evocative Discipline Powers at some Point.
